Glycans directly participate in almost every biological process and play an important role in almost every human disease. After genome, transcriptome, or proteome, glycomics is flourishing in its era. Identifying the number, structure, and function of glycans in cell biology, as well as exploring the relationship between saccharides and life, are difficult tasks. However, more advanced technologies have been developed to enable an increasingly comprehensive understanding of the overall position of glycans in biology and made it easier to apply glycomics to precision medicine.
